I generally like the FF7 Piano Collection, but the "Farm Boy" rendition just sounds lame. A real rape. Listen to the original version, it's much better.

A few of the FF piano renditions do suffer from the act of being condensed down to a single instrument. Must say though, this ain't one IMO.

Yeah, I have to agree with Adam here. (OMG, ADAM? HE'S ALIVE! etc)

I get your point, some of them don't really work on piano. But this one, while obviously barely recognisable from the original, is still pretty good imo. In fact, I'd venture to say that the failures of the piano collections series are arrangements where they've not altered it enough from the original, rather than altering it too much, like in this case. This is usually because they pick popular tunes which are just inherently not suited to piano arrangement at all.
